本网讯（通讯员 肖玉立）This is your moment A speech given on the Opening Ceremony of the 11^th Foreign Language Festival   Hello, everyone:         Good evening! Tonight, we are gathering here in the Music Hall to celebrate the opening of the 11^th Foreign Language Festival of Xiangnan University. The theme of this year is “2012”(twenty twelve), which means the end of the last decade—the last ten Foreign Language Festivals, and you have welcome the arrival of the 11^th , the first foreign language festival of the second decade, the first festival of your own. You are now standing at a new starting point. This is your moment!       This is your moment, a moment to show your creativeness and uniqueness. Everybody was born “unique” and it’s of great value to keep this “uniqueness” throughout your life. To share something in common with others is important, but it’s more important to be different, creatively. I am looking forward to seeing the “color” of your character, the “color” of your dream, the “color” of your age! I am sure, this opening ceremony, “May way, My show”, will be a stage to show your uniqueness, your special taste of the life of your time.        This is your moment, a moment to participate. English is a language that can only be mastered in practice. The foreign language festival, which offers great opportunities for you to participate, is a wonderful medium for you to learn English. There is a variety of contests that you can participate. If you’re not a good singer, you can choose to dance; if you are not a good speaker, you can choose to organize a culture exhibition; if you are not a good interpreter, you can show your ability in internet space construction. Or at least, you can choose to be a good audience. There is always a way for you to get involved. God closes one door, but opens another for you at the same time. The problem is, you’ve got to have a willing heart to participate, always; you’ve got to be ready to catch the chance to participate, always.      This is your moment, a moment to witness the growing of yourself, of your peers, of our department and of our college. Many of the “used-to” freshmen, who once performed on the stage of the foreign language festivals, are now pillars of the stages in and out of this campus. I have witnessed their growing and their success. And they have witnessed the growing of our department and of our college. Either you want to witness or to be witnessed, you’ve got to be on the spot. Therefore, I sincerely call on the participation of everyone in our college. This stage needs not only the freshmen, but also the sophomores, the juniors and the seniors. We need the freshmen’s passion, the sophomores’ imagination, the juniors’ sensibility and the seniors’ maturity.     This is not only your moment. This is our moment. Let us be part of this moment.     This is our moment. This is our chance. Let us make this moment a moment that can bring us back to the golden age of our youth, many years later, when we are pretty old.      But most important of all, let us enjoy this moment. Right here, right now. Thank you.
