一、课程性质及任务

课程性质：《英语公众演说（1）》是英语翻译专业/英语师范/商务英语的一门的专业必修课程。

课程任务：通过该课程的学习，使学生比较系统地掌握英语公众演说的基本理论、基本知识和基本方法，学会怎样将英语公众演说的知识应用在具体的演讲中，组织和完成个人演讲，并进一步将英语公众演说的知识应用到人际交往中，提高交际效果。

 

二、本课程的基本内容

第一章   英语公众演说介绍  

（一）教学目的与要求：

使学生了解英语公众演说能力在当今社会的重要性，明确本学期的学习目的，唤起学生对该课程的兴趣。

（二）教学的重点与难点：

重点：英语公众演说与日常交流的异同。

难点：英语公众演说能力在人际交往和跨文化交际中的应用，。

（三）课时安排：2课时

（四）主要内容：

1. The comparison between the public speaking and daily communication

2. The interpersonal communication competence in public speaking

    3. The application of the public speaking in cross-cultural communication

第二章  演讲交际过程

（一）教学目的与要求：

1、了解英语交际过程及七个要素
2、学习演讲者的基本仪态、发音的基本要求

3、提升演讲者对个人可信度的认识，并有意识地培养和实践

4、提升演讲者的听众意识

（二）教学的重点与难点：

重点：英语交际过程及七个要素

（三）课时安排：4课时（其中实践2课时）

（四）主要内容：

1. The 7 elements of speech communication process：speaker, message, channel, listener, feedback, interference, situation.

2. The speaker’s personal credibility.

3. Speaker’s body ( personal appearance, eye contact, gestures, movement)

4. The audience-centeredness.

第三章  应对怯场

（一）教学目的与要求：

1、了解怯场的生理表现与原因
2、学习如何将消极的怯场转化为积极的紧张

（二）教学的重点与难点：

重点：怯场的生理表现与原因
难点：化解怯场的技巧和实践

（三）课时安排：2课时 （其中实践1学时）

（四）主要内容：

1. Nervousness is normal

2. Dealing with nervousness

第四章  如何准备和展示第一次演讲

（一）教学目的与要求：

1、介绍组织演讲内容的基本要求
2、介绍展示演讲的基本准备工作

（二）教学的重点与难点：

重点：组织演讲内容的基本要求

展示演讲的基本准备工作
难点：案例分析，利用所学知识点实例分析演讲者的表现和演讲稿内容

（三）课时安排：4课时 (其中实践2学时)

（四）主要内容：

1. Preparing your speech (developing and organizing the speech)

2. Delivering your speech (speaking extemporaneously, rehearsing the speech, presenting the speech)

3. Case study of the sample speeches

难点：案例分析，结合所学的几种论证方式，分析实际的演讲稿。

学习和掌握如何组织演讲稿正文内容：安排要点；连贯上下文内容。

（二）教学的重点与难点：

重点：如何准备和布局分论点
难点：如何使用衔接语

（三）课时安排：5课时 （其中实践2课时）

（四）主要内容：

三、教学方法

教师讲授基础知识，演示相关技巧，组织学生头脑风暴，学生实际操练与上台展示

四、成绩考核方式

考查；学生上交个人完整演讲视频录像，结合期末考查成绩和平时作业情况确定成绩。
